week 6, thing 13

Delicious... never used it before. I watched the video, it was helpful but i got a bit impatient half way through and just started exploring.

i created an account. It took so long to add the few bookmarks i did. i tried to download the bookmarking tool but it didn't work. Perhaps if i was starting my bookmark list from scratch i'd like delicious more. ...Then again, i do tend to forget what sites i encounter & like.

So far i see it more as an "easy way to create bookmarks that can be accessed from anywhere" than a tool for research assistence.

Delicious tools (the quick and easy way microsoft explorer):

-Under the View Menu go to toolbars and click on links.
-This should bring up a toolbar that shows the sites in the Links folder of the computer's bookmarks.
-go to http://delicious.com/help/bookmarklets
-About 3/4 of the way down will be Internet Explorer (Manual)
-You can follow the steps under this it's fairly easy.
-right click on the link "bookmark on delicious" and choose "add to favorites" (you might get an annoying warning, just say yes)
-In the dialog box for favorites you want to "Create in Links" and press add.
-"Bookmark on Delicious" should now appear on your links toolbar.
-when you want to add the site you are on just click this button and it will bring up the add to delicious site with the site you were on.
-once you fill out the information it should return to the site you were on.

Hope that helps
